Overview

A system belongs to a subdomain and represents a unique connection to a software application. For example, you could have a load-balanced connection to an SAP instance as one system and a direct application server connection to that same SAP instance as another system.

Systems are configurable by administrators within your organization. There is no limit to the number of systems you can attach to a subdomain. In ClearWork, navigate to Tools > Systems to see all of your system connections:

Creating System Connections

To create a new system connection, click the Create button:

The Create System modal will display:

The following fields are available:

  • Name – a unique name for your system connection.
  • Connector – the protocol by which ClearProcess will communicate with the system. Clear currently provides 10 connectors that handle nearly every enterprise system
  • Connection Parameters – the fields and values that need to be passed during each call to that system. Depending upon the Connector, you will need to enter different parameters. See the corresponding page for each connector to see those value.

Click the Save button to add the system.

Editing System Connections

Select the radio button next to the system you want to change and click the Change button:

The Edit System modal will appear:

The following fields are available:

  • Connection Parameters – the fields and values that need to be passed during each call to that system. Depending upon the Connector, you will need to enter different parameters. See the corresponding page for each connector to see those value.

Click Save to make the changes.

Copying System Connections

If you want to create a similar connection to an existing system connection in your table, the Copy feature is fastest method. Examples might include:

  • A new vendor that supports punchout integration.
  • A new WSDL for a system using the SOAP adapter.

To copy a connection, select the system connection and click the Copy button:

The Copy System modal will appear:

Change the values as desired, then click the Save button.
